The evening still has a clear restaurant-and-lounge atmosphere. Build a polished capsule wardrobe and use the included laundry service thoughtfully, instead of carrying a separate formal outfit for every night.

Regent’s onboard FAQ permits refined non-distressed denim with appropriate tops, makes jackets optional and accepts clean dress sneakers in neutral or classic colors. After 6 p.m., it excludes shorts, T-shirts, baseball caps, athletic shoes, flip-flops and bathrobes from social spaces.
Choose clothes that work for dinner and a lounge afterward, with non-distressed denim or trousers and suitable shoes. If you need particular footwear for mobility or medical reasons, contact Regent before sailing to discuss arrangements.
Formalwear is welcome if you enjoy it
Regent’s style guide welcomes guests who want to dress more formally while presenting Elegant Casual as the evening approach. You can bring a cocktail dress or suit for a celebration without turning that choice into an obligation for the rest of the voyage.
Try a celebration outfit while seated and walking before packing it. If you want a particular anniversary dinner, reserve the restaurant and check the booking instructions alongside your clothing plans.
Included laundry changes the packing arithmetic
The Regent onboard FAQ states that valet laundry is included. That can make repeating a smaller set of clothes practical, but inspect the service instructions for turnaround, exclusions and fabric care rather than assuming every garment can be cleaned immediately.
Build around pieces you are comfortable sending through the available service. A delicate item that requires special treatment may still need a backup. On a short voyage, the timing of laundry matters as much as the price: do not send away the only trousers you need for that evening’s reservation.
The last evening has its own sensible exception
Regent's FAQ allows relaxed dinner clothing on the evening before disembarkation, recognizing that guests may have packed for an early departure. Use the ordinary Elegant Casual guidance for the other evenings.
Even with that flexibility, leave a complete travel outfit and toiletries outside the suitcases being collected. Keep the shoes you intend to wear the following morning. A small overnight bag prevents a last-minute search for essentials when the main luggage has already gone.
Plan for flights, hotels and port days
A cruise with many included services can still involve airlines, transfers, hotel nights and luggage handling. Pack for the complete route. A warm embarkation city does not tell you what you will need at a later port or on a windy sea day.
A coordinated set of two or three bottoms, several tops and a layer can offer plenty of combinations when laundry is available. Adjust those suggested quantities for the length of the trip and how often you prefer to change.
Compare Regent’s atmosphere with the alternatives
Regent’s current rule may suit travelers who want an elegant evening without mandatory jackets. Silversea’s June 2026 changes are another example of why old luxury-cruise stereotypes can mislead. Cunard’s gala tradition is a different proposition again.
When comparing sailings, include the services you will use in the total-cost comparison. Confirm laundry turnaround on board before sending away an outfit needed for a dinner reservation.
