MSC Seashore dining guide: flexible dining, seafood and specialty restaurants
MSC Seashore dining explained: included restaurants, Dine on Your Time, Aurea My Choice, Ocean Cay seafood, Butcher’s Cut, Kaito and HOLA.
Jump to a section
MSC Seashore’s dining decision starts with your dinner schedule. Its new Dine on Your Time option gives Bella and Fantastica guests a flexible arrangement subject to availability, while Aurea’s My Choice remains a different benefit. Once that is clear, you can decide whether Ocean Cay, Butcher’s Cut or a Japanese specialty meal adds something you actually want.
MSC says Dine on Your Time began on Seashore on April 19, 2026. That matters when reading older reviews describing only fixed dining for Bella and Fantastica. This guide uses the current official arrangement and the ship’s own five-restaurant specialty roster, with no assumption that another Seaside-family ship has identical choices.
What matters for your decision
- Bella and Fantastica guests should check Dine on Your Time availability before assuming a fixed dinner is the only option.
- Aurea My Choice and Dine on Your Time have different access and capacity rules.
- Ocean Cay is the shipboard seafood restaurant; its name is separate from the private-island destination.
Which restaurants are included on MSC Seashore?
The regular main dining restaurants and Marketplace Buffet support an included dining plan. The buffet’s official description includes a mozzarella-making area, but the daily selection and production schedule remain onboard details. Aurea and Yacht Club restaurant access follows the booked experience. Do not count restricted restaurants as extra places every passenger can use. The current ship page also lists complimentary breakfast and lunch at Red Cactus BBQ & Ribs and lunch at The Chicken Man. These give families concrete alternatives to returning to the buffet; check their daily service hours.
The table covers principal venues. Confirm hours and access in the official ship information. Drinks, premium dishes and delivery may cost extra even where standard food is included.
| Venue | Food and occasion | Cost / access |

Dine on Your Time is not the same as Aurea My Choice
Under MSC’s current description, Dine on Your Time lets Bella and Fantastica guests choose flexible main dining through a first-come arrangement or reservations, subject to capacity. The practical benefit is being able to match dinner more closely to the day’s plans. It does not mean a table for a large party will always be ready at the most popular time. Verify that the arrangement is attached to your booking and ask how reservations work for your sailing.
Aurea’s My Choice is described separately, with guaranteed access to flexible dining during the restaurant’s operating hours. If you are comparing cabin experiences mainly to avoid a fixed dinner, inspect the new Seashore option before paying for an upgrade. Then compare the remaining Aurea benefits and the actual fare difference; an accommodation upgrade is a much larger purchase than a single specialty dinner.
The specialty roster is compact enough to plan deliberately. Ocean Cay addresses a seafood-focused evening. Butcher’s Cut is the steakhouse alternative and has an outdoor dining area, although weather and table allocation matter. HOLA! changes the cuisine, while Kaito Sushi and Kaito Teppanyaki are distinct experiences. The official conveyor-belt description belongs to the sushi venue; it is not a description of the teppanyaki service.
Which meal is worth booking first?
If one person in the party strongly prefers seafood and another steak, compare the complete Ocean Cay and Butcher’s Cut menus before booking either. Restaurant labels are a starting point, not a full menu. Reserve the place whose actual alternatives work for the whole table, and discuss allergies before paying for a meal built around ingredients someone cannot eat.
For a group that wants dinner to double as an activity, look at Kaito Teppanyaki first. For guests who prefer choosing individual sushi items at their own pace, investigate Kaito Sushi instead. A cost-conscious party can skip both and build the sailing around the included restaurants; the new flexible main-dining arrangement makes that option worth a fresh look.
Build a dining plan around the actual sailing
Before departure, check whether your booking has traditional dining, Dine on Your Time or Aurea My Choice. Those labels affect the evening plan more than the headline number of restaurants. On board, learn where to request a table and how long a typical meal is scheduled to take. Give a larger group extra margin before a show, especially when several cabins need to dine together.
Use the first full day to test how the included options fit your habits. Then add a specialty meal if it solves a clear need: a celebration, a preferred cuisine or an evening with a different atmosphere. If buying a package, check the restaurant-specific inclusions and restrictions rather than assuming every dish, repeat visit or drink is covered. Ocean Cay restaurant spending also belongs in a different budget line from purchases ashore at MSC’s island.
Reservations, menus and the total food budget
If you have a food allergy, contact the cruise line before departure and discuss preparation with the dining team before ordering. Our cruise dietary-needs guide explains what to confirm.
Compare departure dates and cabin fares on CruiseGem’s MSC Seashore page, then add the optional meals and drinks you actually plan to buy. Use the resulting trip total to compare sailings.
Your decision checklist
