Viking Ocean dining by ship: restaurants, new ships and the Vili exception

Viking’s established ocean ships are deliberately consistent in their restaurant offering. That makes itinerary, cabin and fare more useful starting points than trying to find a different signature restaurant on each sister. The Restaurant, World Café and the specialty choices provide different styles of meal within a familiar layout.
The ocean fleet shares the restaurant program below. Ship links lead to individual layouts and itineraries, followed by announced additions and the river Longship Vili. Octantis and Polaris have their own Viking expedition dining guide.
What matters for your decision
- Current ocean ships share a broadly consistent dining program; compare itinerary, cabin and fare when choosing between them.
- Manfredi’s and The Chef’s Table are included specialty choices, but reservation access and preferred times are separate questions.
- Future ocean vessels and the river ship Vili require their own status and venue checks.
Main restaurants, specialty dinners and casual meals
The Restaurant serves seated meals, World Café offers several food stations and outdoor seating on Aquavit Terrace, and Manfredi’s specializes in Italian food. The Chef’s Table serves a themed tasting menu. Mamsen’s offers Norwegian dishes, Pool Grill provides casual food, and Wintergarden serves afternoon tea.
The restaurant program is included in the fare. Check prices and availability separately for The Kitchen Table cooking experience. Restaurant reservations and meal service times vary; consult My Viking Journey and the onboard program.

Viking Vili: a river Longship, not an ocean ship
Vili is a river Longship with a Restaurant and Aquavit Terrace & Lounge. It does not have the ocean ships’ Manfredi’s, The Chef’s Table or World Café. Compare its river itinerary and fare inclusions separately from an ocean cruise.

What to do when specialty times are unavailable
Keep the first night uncomplicated and ask about available alternatives after boarding. A different date or a later time may solve the problem, but do not build a plan that depends on an unconfirmed extra reservation. The Restaurant and World Café are practical choices in their own right.
For The Chef’s Table, read the theme before choosing the evening. If several ingredients do not appeal or a required dietary adjustment would fundamentally change the meal, ask the team whether another venue would suit you better. For Manfredi’s, decide whether a shared specialty evening is important to the group before booking separate tables at conflicting times.

Which Viking Ocean ship has the best restaurant selection?
The current ocean ships use a broadly consistent dining model, so itinerary, cabin and available reservations are usually more useful distinctions than a claim that one sister has a fundamentally different restaurant selection.
Are Manfredi’s and The Chef’s Table extra-cost restaurants?
They are part of Viking Ocean’s included restaurant program. Reservations and preferred times remain subject to availability; separate culinary activities can have different terms.
Does Viking Vili have the same restaurants as Viking Star?
No. Vili is a river Longship with its own Restaurant and Aquavit Terrace arrangement. Viking Star is an ocean ship with a different dining program.
