Oceania dining by ship: restaurant differences, Vista changes and new ships

Choose the cuisines you want to repeat

For an Italian-and-steakhouse routine on a smaller ship, Polo Grill and Toscana may be exactly the right amount of choice. If Asian dishes are a priority, Sirena’s Red Ginger is a more meaningful distinction than a broad claim that one ship has more restaurants. On larger ships, four specialties give a longer cruise more variety without requiring a new venue every night.

Reserve your first choices, then use the Grand Dining Room and casual venues between them. An included specialty meal still occupies an evening; it is not automatically the best choice after a late return from port.

Oceania Insignia

Insignia lists Polo Grill and Toscana, supported by the Grand Dining Room, Terrace Café and Waves Grill. It suits someone who wants a familiar steakhouse-and-Italian specialty pair rather than many different themed rooms. Leave a few evenings for the main dining menu, especially when port meals already provide the week’s culinary variety.

Oceania Nautica

Nautica’s published current lineup also centers on Polo Grill, Toscana, the Grand Dining Room, Terrace Café and Waves Grill. Compare its actual itinerary and cabin with Insignia before paying more for an assumed restaurant difference. A long Mediterranean port day can make an uncomplicated Terrace Café meal more useful than another formal reservation.

Oceania Sirena

Sirena is the smaller-ship outlier: Red Ginger and Tuscan Steak replace the separate Polo Grill and Toscana pairing. That makes it a useful candidate for a couple who wants an Asian specialty evening without moving to a larger ship. Tuscan Steak combines culinary themes; do not describe it as two different restaurants when comparing venue counts.

Oceania Marina

Marina’s current list includes Jacques, Red Ginger, Polo Grill and Toscana, plus Aquamar Kitchen among its daytime choices. This matters if lighter casual meals are part of your routine as well as specialty dinners. The Grand Dining Room, Terrace Café and Waves Grill remain useful alternatives; a broad selection is valuable only if the schedule leaves time to enjoy it.

If comparing these sisters, identify the particular daytime restaurant difference you care about rather than assuming their current refits and venue lists are identical.

Oceania Vista

Vista’s current culinary page lists Jacques with Polo Grill, Toscana and Red Ginger. Older articles describing Ember need to be read in their original date context. Aquamar Kitchen, Terrace Café, Waves Grill and the Grand Dining Room broaden the everyday plan. If Jacques is your reason to choose Vista, confirm it again in the reservation system for the departure you book.

Oceania Allura

Allura advertises Jacques, Polo Grill, Toscana and Red Ginger alongside Aquamar Kitchen and its wider casual dining program. It is a strong candidate when you want to alternate French, Italian, Asian and steakhouse dinners without treating those ordinary specialty meals as separate purchases. Keep wine-pairing events and other premium culinary experiences in their own budget category.

Oceania Aurelia: planned November 2027 program

The announced Aurelia program includes the Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill, Toscana, Terrace Café and Waves dining. This is a future offering as of September 2026. Use the published plan to judge whether the smaller-ship style appeals, while leaving final menus and reservation arrangements open until the line confirms them for the voyage.

Do not import Allura’s or Vista’s four-specialty list into an Aurelia description. Shared branding is not proof of Red Ginger, Jacques or any other venue absent from the ship’s own published plan.

Oceania Sonata: planned 2027 expanded dining

Sonata’s preliminary program names familiar specialties alongside new concepts including Nikkei Kitchen and La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France. It is the ship to investigate if the announced expansion itself interests you, but the distinction must remain “planned” until the restaurants operate.

Ask which special experiences are included and which require a charge or limited booking. In particular, a small chef-led or wine-pairing event should not inherit a blanket “all dining free” claim from the standard restaurant program. Final arrangements may change before the debut.

Included dining does not mean unlimited preferred reservations

Start with your cabin’s reservation window and the voyage’s allocation. Request the dinner you most want, then keep some flexibility about date, time and table arrangements. Asking for an additional available reservation later is different from having a guaranteed right to the same popular time every night.

Separate ordinary specialty dinners from paid culinary events. La Reserve-style wine experiences, a private dining arrangement and the standard restaurant menu are different products. For a non-drinker, an included dinner may be the better choice even when a wine-pairing event is highly promoted. For a wine enthusiast, review the actual selection and total price before deciding.

Build a week that uses the ship without overruling the itinerary

On a ship with four specialties, try one cuisine every other evening rather than scheduling all four consecutively. Use the intervening nights for the main dining menu, a casual meal or an evening ashore. On Sirena, give Red Ginger its own evening and let Tuscan Steak serve as the more familiar option for a mixed-preference group.

Daytime habits deserve equal attention. If you prefer a light breakfast followed by a substantial port lunch, you may use Waves less than someone spending a sea day by the pool. Choose the ship for the routine you will actually follow, then compare Oceania evening clothing so restaurant access does not become a packing surprise.
