Norwegian Free at Sea Drinks: Current Charges, Inclusions and Value

Open your confirmation and locate the promotion name, booking date, guest eligibility and beverage charge. The relevant market and departure dates matter as much as the package name.

The August 26, 2026 booking-window terms cited here apply to qualifying departures under that offer and have market exceptions. They list $32 per person per day for two-to-five-night cruises and $28.50 for six nights or longer. Do not apply these numbers retroactively to a More at Sea reservation or another market’s offer. Ask Norwegian or your agent to identify the actual charge before changing anything.

For two eligible adults on a seven-night cruise at $28.50 each, the beverage charge is $399. That is a concrete starting point for value, not the brochure’s suggested retail price of a standalone package. Use the total cruise cost method to keep airfare, gratuities and excursions alongside it.

Compare the drinks you buy with the drinks included

The current offer covers a broad range of beer, wine by the glass, spirits, cocktails and selected nonalcoholic drinks. It does not mean every beverage served anywhere is included. Norwegian’s 2026 beverage flyer helps distinguish the standard offer from upgraded selections.

Pay special attention if your main purchases are bottled water, Starbucks, fresh juice or energy drinks. These exclusions can make a seemingly generous alcohol package a poor match for a coffee-and-water routine. Room service and minibar purchases also need separate treatment. Do not calculate savings using products that your selected package excludes.

For an illustrative seven-night calculation, suppose each adult would otherwise spend $22 a day on eligible drinks, including relevant service charges. Their combined expected spending is $308, below the $399 package charge. At $40 each per day, the same comparison becomes $560 versus $399. These are hypothetical spending patterns, not current menu prices or drinking recommendations.

Read the island rule by destination name

The cited current terms include eligible drinks at Great Stirrup Cay and exclude Harvest Caye. Those places are not interchangeable. An older article saying all Norwegian island drinks are included, or that none are, can lead to the wrong budget.

An included island does not make every product or venue eligible. Premium bottles and excluded specialty items remain subject to their own rules. Ask before ordering if the menu does not clearly identify the package treatment, especially when buying for a group.

Keep the other Free at Sea benefits separate

Do not give the beverage offer credit for dining or excursion savings you are already counting elsewhere. Evaluate each part once. A dining benefit has value when you use the eligible meals; a shore-excursion credit has value when it reduces a tour you would buy. A credit is not cash simply because it appears in the package description.

The standard internet benefit in the cited terms is a minutes allowance, not unlimited streaming. Free at Sea Plus adds benefits for an additional charge, but the correct comparison is the incremental cost against the extras you will use. Price it for all required guests and all charged days. Do not assume that upgrading one guest is permitted without checking the current cabin rules.

Decide as a cabin and preserve your evidence

Packages are personal and cannot be shared. Guest age, position in the booking and cabin participation rules can affect who receives which benefit. Families should review the confirmation guest by guest instead of assuming children receive the adult offer or that only the lead passenger’s charge matters.
