Start with the day you want

Celebration Key's destination map places families around Starfish Lagoon and Guppy Grotto. Within the adult-friendly Calypso area, the southwest lagoon and beach sections are for guests 13 and older; Pearl Cove Beach Club is a separate paid area for adults 18 and older. Choose the area before leaving the ship, especially when traveling with children of different ages. Lagoon swimming and beach access do not include every attraction: the Suncastle racing slides cost extra.

Half Moon Cay's beach remains its main attraction, with more facilities following the 2026 expansion. Carnival's announcement names Orchid and Hibiscus Beach Grills, Luna Tide Beach Bar and other new or upgraded outlets. Check the day's map and dining hours rather than expecting the layout described in an older review.

Do not choose a seven-night cruise solely for one island call. Weather and operations can change a visit. Use the private-island comparison to compare the other destinations on your shortlist, then assess the ship and remaining ports.

Understand what lunch includes

Celebration Key's Island Eats benefit provides one qualifying fast-casual meal or 40% off an eligible full-service entrée. Not every outlet participates. For a hypothetical $30 eligible entrée, the discount leaves $18 to pay before drinks, other dishes or applicable charges. Check the menu and redemption instructions before ordering.

Compare the included fast-casual choices with the full-service restaurant you want. Budget separately for additional snacks and drinks, particularly if the family will eat at different times. The benefit covers a qualifying meal or entrée discount rather than every purchase during the day.

At Half Moon Cay, identify the included dining location and service window in the daily schedule. An afternoon return to the ship may be easier than searching for a meal after island lunch has closed. Dietary needs deserve their own arrangements; discuss them aboard before going ashore rather than assuming every remote outlet can reproduce the ship’s options.

Budget for drinks separately

Carnival's CHEERS purchase terms exclude destinations ashore. That means a separate drinks bill at Celebration Key, Half Moon Cay or Princess Cays even when CHEERS is active aboard. The CHEERS value guide includes those shore hours in the package calculation.

Make a simple separate island allowance: drinks, any lunch supplement, optional activity and transport or rental. For example, a hypothetical family allocating $60 for drinks, $40 for food beyond the included meal and $80 for an activity has a $180 island budget before a cabana. For a paid beach area or cabana, compare its guest capacity, shade, included services and distance from the places you want to use. Check whether an activity ticket or rental duplicates something in that booking.

Check arrival and mobility details

Carnival’s June 2026 expansion announcement confirms the new Half Moon Cay pier. Its current map also identifies water-shuttle arrival. Your ship’s berth assignment and instructions determine the actual process; do not infer a guaranteed walk-off visit from the existence of a pier.

A pier also does not mean every beach is a short, smooth walk. Compare the route from the ship to transport, toilets, dining and your chosen beach area. Pack a compact beach bag with sun protection, footwear for hot surfaces, the required ship identification and a refillable water bottle where permitted. Keep the ship’s all-aboard time visible. A private destination remains a port call with a departure deadline.

Choose the fare after the beach plan
