For Celebrity in the Galápagos, give footwear and daytime clothing more suitcase space than formal wear. The priority is a comfortable outfit for landings, walks and time outdoors, followed by a clean, easy dinner outfit.

Evening clothing is straightforward
Celebrity’s Galápagos preparation page says formal attire is unnecessary. It recommends resort-casual clothes, with comfortable shirts and pants, skirts or casual dresses among its examples. The same page recommends a jacket or sweatshirt for cooler days and evenings.
Our compact dinner choice is a clean pair of trousers with interchangeable tops, or a simple dress and a light layer. The value of that outfit is comfort after a full outdoor day. Choose something that dries easily if you intend to wash it, and avoid packing an extra pair of bulky shoes purely to match one evening look.
Wet and dry landings need a real footwear plan
The operator’s 2024 shore-excursion brochure, still linked from current trip preparation, defines a wet landing as stepping into water or surf, while a dry landing uses rocks or a pier with a lower chance of getting wet. It also explains that evening briefings cover the next day’s footwear, clothing and terrain. Use those briefings for the actual activity rather than treating the brochure as a fixed sailing schedule.
The current packing advice recommends supportive walking shoes or lightweight hiking boots with good tread, plus waterproof sandals or wet/dry shoes for beach and wet landings. Test footwear before travel. A shoe that is tolerable around the house can rub once wet or become awkward on uneven ground; bring the solution you know works for your feet.
A useful landing-day kit
This is our organization plan, not an extra operator equipment requirement. Put the items you need during an outing where you can reach them without emptying the bag. A small bag is usually easier to manage than a large one packed with every camera accessory you own.

Check provided equipment before duplicating it
The excursion brochure lists snorkel equipment, wetsuits and walking sticks among provided items. Before packing your own, ask about any fit or specialist need and read your booking’s current instructions. Someone who needs a particular prescription mask has a different decision from a traveler who is simply worried nothing will be available.
Try the day bag with the clothes and equipment you plan to bring. Practice reaching a camera, closing its protective bag and moving comfortably with both hands free. Cut accessories that have no defined use. The goal is a kit you can manage throughout the outing, not a collection of outdoor gear that stays aboard because it is inconvenient to carry.
The regional flight is the important luggage check
Celebrity’s current Galápagos FAQ specifies one checked bag up to 23 kg/50 lb and one small carry-on up to 10 kg/22 lb on flights between Quito and Baltra. That regional segment can determine what you pack even if the international flight allows more. Check the allowance on every actual ticket before departure.
