WHAT TO WEAR

Azamara dress code: resort casual, White Night and evenings ashore

Plan Azamara dinners, White Night and AzAmazing Evenings with resort-casual outfits, practical shoes and the current restaurant restrictions.

Azamara’s clothing plan should work for dinner and for time ashore. The line’s resort-casual approach avoids mandatory tuxedos, but Discoveries, Prime C and Aqualina still have specific exclusions. White Night and an AzAmazing Evening add different practical considerations.

Pack a small restaurant wardrobe, one optional white item and shoes that can handle the actual shore event. An elegant-looking outfit that makes cobblestones or stairs difficult is a poor trade on a destination-focused voyage.

THE SHORT VERSION

What matters for your decision

  • Formalwear is optional, while restaurant exclusions still apply.
  • White Night clothing and an AzAmazing Evening are separate planning questions.
  • Use included self-service laundry to reduce duplicates, after checking timing.

01

Resort casual has a clear restaurant boundary

Azamara’s official FAQ encourages resort casual and excludes shorts, T-shirts, tank tops, caps, swimwear and torn jeans from the main and two specialty restaurants. It describes formalwear as welcome but optional. Windows Café requires footwear and a shirt or cover-up.

For dinner, pack comfortable trousers with a suitable top, a dress or a skirt-and-top combination. Add a sport coat if you enjoy wearing one; formalwear remains optional.

02

White Night clothing and deck comfort

Treat a white-themed event as a chance to use something you already own. A white top or light-colored combination can be easier to pack than an outfit with no other purpose. Confirm the sailing’s schedule before buying clothing specifically for the party.

Consider the weather on deck and bring shoes you can comfortably stand or dance in. A light layer is useful if the temperature drops during an outdoor event.

03

AzAmazing Evenings depend on the venue ashore

Azamara’s AzAmazing Evenings FAQ says Smart Casual is appropriate and there is no formal dress requirement. Some venues may request covered shoulders or modest clothing, with that information in the event description. Weather and the actual setting should drive the outfit.

Read beyond the headline. A concert reached by a coach transfer, an outdoor performance and an indoor cultural venue can require different shoes and layers. Keep the necessary cover-up in your bag if it will be useful during transport or at the venue, rather than relying on an evening jacket that is uncomfortable in the heat.

04

A laundry plan makes a longer voyage easier

Azamara’s packing flyer identifies complimentary self-service laundry with detergent, with additional paid services available. That supports a smaller wardrobe, but allow time for washing and drying between port days.

Choose a washing day before your supply of clean dinner clothes runs low. Keep one outfit available while the others are being cleaned, and check fabric-care labels before using the laundry.

05

Late stays and overnight ports change the evening

If you intend to dine ashore, check the local restaurant’s requirements separately. Azamara’s onboard standard cannot guarantee admission to a venue in port. Carry what you need for the full evening, including a layer and comfortable walking shoes if you will be away from the ship for several hours.

The South America packing article is a useful operator reminder to adapt to destination and climate. Use the actual itinerary and forecast to build your own list rather than assuming all South American or Mediterranean days will be alike.

06

Choose the restaurant experience as well as the clothes

Prime C or Aqualina can be a special evening, but you do not have to make every night a specialty reservation. Compare your fare’s dining entitlements, current charges and the hours you plan to spend ashore. A prepaid meal has little value if it competes with the port evening you booked the cruise to enjoy.

Read our steakhouse comparison if a celebratory meal is a priority. When comparing sailings, check overnight and late-stay port hours so you can plan those meals around your time ashore.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE
